    The Current Industrial Relations Landscape

    This seminar, hosted by global law firm Ashurst, will discuss the challenges of the current industrial relations landscape, focusing on some of the issues that employers face under the Fair Work Act 2009 and overviewing the changes which have been proposed by the Federal Government. The discussion will also explore some recent industrial disputes and the tactics which the unions have engaged in, including illegal strike action and illegal pickets.

    About the presenters:

    Vince Rogers, Partner, Ashurst
    Vince is a partner in Ashurst's employment team. He works with clients to minimise risk through the provision of strategic advice on a broad range of employment and occupational health and safety matters. Vince's practice includes both private and public sector clients in a broad range of industries including resources, aviation, communications, transport, health, power, manufacturing and the education sector. Vince regularly appears as an advocate before state and federal courts and tribunals. He also provides training and seminars to clients and industry associations on a range of employment law and safety issues.

    Jennifer Archibald, Senior Associate, Ashurst
    Jennifer specialises in employment, industrial relations, workplace health and safety. Jennifer's experience includes assisting clients develop and implement major workplace change initiatives, assisting clients develop and implement industrial relations strategies for Greenfield sites, representing clients in large scale workplace health and safety prosecutions, representing clients in breach of contract, unfair dismissal and unlawful termination proceedings, advising on relevant statutes, awards, industrial agreements and contracts of employment, drafting employment contracts, services agreements and industrial instruments, assisting clients with enterprise bargaining negotiations.
