    TAS: Unfair Contract Term Laws and how they impact will impact on your business

    The session will outline the Unfair Contract Term (UTC) regime and consider how it is applied to standard form small business contracts. We will work through some practical examples of terms likely to be considered unfair under the legislation, and discuss strategies and alternate drafting considerations aimed at avoiding terms being considered unfair and therefore void and unenforceable.

    In-house counsel who attend this session will learn:

    • what contracts the UCT laws will apply to;
    • terms likely to be consider "Unfair";
    • the consequences of having unfair terms in contracts; and
    • practical steps to address the impact of UCT Laws on your business.

    This seminar is of importance to any entity that enters into standard form contracts from time to time either as supplier or customer.
